- When Milan Porter registered for the WWI draft, he was living in Swanton Ohio with his wife. He worked for Ford Gallagher in Swanton. When the 1920 census was taken, Miland Chortie was living in the home of his brother Eddy Chortie at 136 Michigan in Toledo (Lucas), Ohio. Miland was an inspector at an automobile factory. Miland says he is married, but there is no wife in the household. Can’t find him in the 1930 census which was taken, in April 1930.
