When the 1870 and 1880 censuses were taken, this family was living in Whiting in the household next to Julie’s parents. Edward was a farm laborer. When the 1900 census was taken, this family was living in Ferrisburg (Addison), Vermont. Edward was a farmer. He said he immigrated in 1846 and Julia said she immigrated in 1850. Living in this household were George and Edith (Myatt) Gibson. In the 1900 census Julia said she had 8 children with 7 of them living. When the 1910 census was taken, Julia was a 63 year old widower living in Rutland ((Rutland), Vermont. She is listed as a mother-in-law, but it isn’t clear what household she is living in. In this census she says she is the mother of 9 children with 6 of them living. Also living in Rutland were her sons, John and James.
