• Name	Francois Antoine CHARTIER
  	Francis A. Chartier he received his bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Brown University. After that he received his masters degree in mechanical engineering from UCLA. He served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army from 1934 to 1936. He married Cecile Baril on February 18, 1939 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The couple moved to Orange County, California where Francis worked as a mechanical engineer design specialist for 41 years -- working for companies such as, Technicolor Inc. and 3M. He also worked for NASA on the Mercury project. Retiring in 1982, Francis & Cecile moved to the Coralville area in 1992. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Iowa City.
