    • Name Roland CHARTIER 
      • Roland Chartier after graduating from Lincoln High School in 1937 worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps. He moved to Chicago, where he sang and played guitar with a musical trio. In 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and he was stationed in Newfoundland as an airplane electrical specialist. After marriage, he worked at Acme Sign Company, Peterson Mine, Prudential Insurance Company, and Giovanoni True Value Hardware. He was a member of the Iron County Senior Citizens Assoc., Knights of Columbus, VFW 1580 and the Hurley American Legion Post 58. He had served on the Hurley Board of Education and been president of St. Mary’s PTA. Rollie was well-known in the area for his musical talent as a vocalist and guitar player. He was the director of St. Mary’s Adult Choir for 10 years. He was a member of bands such as the Silver Street Preservation Band, the Geogebic Range Swing Band and the Peace Choir at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. In Roland’s obituary it says he is survived by three grandchildren, Kristen and Tara Chartier and Phillip Beals, Kenosha. Roland and Lucille were living at 1108 Gold St. in Hurley, Wisconsin when Dale married Linda.
