- When the 1900 census was taken, this family was living in Pinconning (Bay), Michigan. Bertha wasn’t in the household. Caroline said she was the mother of 8 children with all 8 of them living. Harvey was a farmer. When the 1910 census was taken, this family was still living in Pinconning and Harvey was still a farmer. Also in the household was Hubert and Theda and Nellie Richards, daughter of Harvey and Caroline and Bernadine Richards, one year old granddaughter of Harvey and Caroline. It looks like Caroline was widowed. When the 1920 and 1930 censuses were taken, Harvey was living by himself in Pinconning. The 1920 census says he was married whereas the 1930 census says he was widowed which doesn’t jive with Caroline’s death date.
