- John Joseph Sharkey was a WWII US Army Airplane Gunner. During his military service, he was a member of Squadron A, 3508th Army, Air Force Unit, Truax Field Wisconsin. Received the Purple Heart in the Aleutian Islands. He was the Alaskan Defense Command Heavyweight Boxing Champion in 1942. He was also an Engineer with Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was also an artist (drawing medium).
