When Emma married, Joseph Karner the marriage record said Joseph Shorkey was a flagman on the railroad. Mary had a second marriage to Anthony Kott in Pontiac, Michigan on 28 Nov 1896. When the 1910 census was taken, Mary was a widow and living in the home of her daughter, Elizabeth Maul on Washington St. in Royal Oak (Oakland), Michigan In this census Mary said she was the mother of 9 children with 6 of them living. When the 1930 census was taken, Mary and her son Edward were living on Hamlin Road in Avon (Oakland), Michigan. Neither one of them were working.
