Daniel Lee CHARTIER |
- Dan Chartier is Director, Environmental Markets and Air Quality Programs at the Edison Electric Institute (EEI). EEI is the association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. Its members provide electricity for 220 million Americans, operate in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, and directly employ more than 500,000 workers. At EEI, Mr. Chartier’s work includes traditional pollutant (SO2, NOX, particulate, ozone, etc.) and climate change issues, and the design and oversight of environmental markets. Mr. Chartier also currently serves an Adjunct Professor at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School where he teaches a graduate level course on environmental finance. Prior to joining EEI in early-2008, Mr. Chartier worked in the Clean Air Markets Division of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). He served as full-time President of the Environmental Markets Association (EMA) from 2002 through 2005. He previously held the position of Emissions Marketing Manager at PG&Es National Energy Group in Bethesda, Maryland. Prior to joining PG&E he worked at Wisconsin Electric Power Company from 1986 to 1999 in various positions including Clean Air Act Compliance Planner and Emissions Trading Manager. Dan is a principal co founder and past Board Chairman of the EMA. He has testified before Congress and state legislatures on emissions trading and climate policy issues, and has presented technical and policy papers at numerous national and international conferences. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration, both from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
