- When Benjamin Sharkey registered for the WWI draft, he was living in Keeseville (Clinton), New York. He was a farmer working for himself. He said his closest relative was his wife, Mrs. Clara B. Sharkey. When the 1920 census was taken, this family was living in Ausable (Clinton), New York. Benjamin was a farmer. Since Benjamin, Jr. moved from Kansas to Ausable, it appears that he returned to the area of New York where his parents lived before moving to Kansas. When the 1930 census was taken, there is a widowed Benjamin Sharkey who is listed as being 54 years old living in Ausable.
