News: Welcome to our new site! All data from the old site (including photos) have now been uploaded (whew!)

I will now begin granting limited access to users that have requested it, however all edits will be reviewed by either Vernon CHARTIER or myself for the time being until we're sure the user knows how the new system works (and he and I are still learning it too!).

NOTE: The maps feature does not seem to work well on GOOGLE Chrome, so use the internet browser bundled with Windows.

      • When the 1880 census was taken, Joseph and Ellen Lacourse were living in Middleton (Essex), Massachusetts. Joseph was working on a farm.. Boarding in the household was Henry Peabody, age 39, who was also working on a farm. When the 1900 census was taken, Annie Lacourse was a widow heading up her family in Lawrence (Essex), Massachusetts. In this census, Annie says she is the mother of 10 children with 9 of them living; and she said she immigrated in 1865. Her son, Louis was working as a “drier” in ice cream store, and her daughter Delia as a sorter in a cotton mill. When the 1920 census was taken, Annie was living in the home of her daughter Elizabeth Hackett in Methuen (Essex), Massachusetts. In this census Annie says she immigrated in 1870.
